This internship role is based in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, within the Labour Mobility and Livelihoods Recovery Unit.
Job Purpose
This internship offers practical exposure to project implementation and operational processes within IOM Cambodia. The intern will work under the direct supervision of the National Project Officer, supporting the Labour Mobility and Livelihoods Recovery Unit. The primary purpose is to assist in the execution of projects focused on labour mobility and livelihoods recovery, providing valuable learning opportunities in project management and international development within a humanitarian context. This role contributes to IOM's mission of promoting orderly migration and supporting recovery efforts.
Responsibilities
Assist in the planning, coordination, and organization of project activities, including training, workshops, and consultations, with IOM units, field offices, CSOs, and government partners. Support the implementation, monitoring, and reporting of project activities according to the work plan. Prepare administrative and technical documentation, correspondence, minutes, and translations between Khmer and English. Assist with financial and logistical tasks, including document verification, expenditure tracking, and record maintenance, in compliance with IOM procedures. Participate in and document internal and external meetings and workshops. Support the organization of field missions and monitoring visits. Contribute to knowledge management, lessons learned documentation, and the preparation of communication materials. Undertake other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Work Experience
Experience in supporting the organization of training, workshops, meetings, or stakeholder consultations, including coordination with diverse stakeholders, is required. Experience in report preparation, project documentation, and administrative, logistical, or financial processes is considered an asset. Fluency in English is required.
