Job Purpose
The Senior Project Associate (LMI) will support the conceptualization, coordination, and implementation of IOM’s Migration, Business, and Human Rights (MBHR) Programme in Indonesia. This role is crucial for promoting the full respect of human and labour rights of migrant workers, particularly vulnerable groups within Asian supply chains, aligning with the UN Guiding Principles of Business and Human Rights. The position builds upon previous IOM initiatives, aiming to foster responsible business practices and protect migrant workers' rights across key regional labour migration corridors.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include assisting in project planning, coordination, implementation, and monitoring. The role involves compiling and analyzing project data, monitoring budget implementation, and acting as a focal point for administrative coordination. This includes liaising with internal units and external parties, drafting status reports, correspondence, and project documentation. The Associate will organize meetings, workshops, and training sessions, prepare materials, and deliver capacity-building support. Responsibilities also extend to responding to information requests, maintaining project files, participating in meetings with stakeholders, monitoring implementing partners, and providing input for SOPs and new project development. The role may involve guiding and supervising other staff.
Work Experience
Required experience includes knowledge of Indonesian migration policies and programming, project implementation, donor liaison, operations, and administration. Experience in capacity building, monitoring, and evaluation is advantageous. Specific experience in labour migration, migrant worker protection, liaising with governmental and non-governmental organizations, working with vulnerable groups, and building private sector partnerships is beneficial. Experience in facilitating training and working in multicultural settings is also noted.
