Job Purpose
The National Project Officer will be responsible for the coordination and implementation of the IOM-UN joint programme in Egypt. This involves managing operational, administrative, and financial aspects in line with IOM policies and donor requirements. The role contributes to the effective delivery of migration-related initiatives by ensuring smooth project execution, stakeholder engagement, and timely reporting. The officer will also support capacity-building activities and contribute to project development and communication efforts, ultimately strengthening IOM's support to people on the move.
Responsibilities
Coordinate and monitor project operations, administration, and finances, ensuring compliance with IOM policies and donor requirements. Maintain open communication with the supervisor regarding project status, identifying challenges and proposing solutions. Assist in developing work plans, budgets, and monitoring tools. Collect, verify, and analyze project data, updating information management systems and social media. Ensure timely preparation and dissemination of project reports. Liaise with donors, UN agencies, local authorities, and stakeholders. Contribute to planning and organizing capacity-building activities for staff, partners, and communities. Attend relevant meetings and forums. Participate in preparing project proposals and communication materials. Supervise and provide guidance to project staff. Undertake duty travel for project implementation and monitoring.
Work Experience
Experience liaising with governmental authorities, international institutions, UN agencies, and NGOs. Experience working with vulnerable groups such as migrants, refugees, and victims of trafficking. Prior experience in a multicultural setting with international humanitarian organizations or government institutions is advantageous.
Skills
In-depth knowledge of migration-related subject areas. Understanding of UN and bilateral donor programming. Knowledge of financial rules and regulations.
