Job Purpose
This role supports IOM's mission by ensuring efficient and compliant warehousing operations in Tripoli, Libya. The Supply Chain Assistant (Warehousing) will contribute to the smooth flow of goods, from receiving and storage to packing, kitting, labelling, and dispatch. This involves meticulous record-keeping, stock management, and coordination with project managers and vendors to ensure timely replenishment and delivery of essential supplies. By maintaining high readiness states and accurate inventory, the position directly supports IOM's operational capacity and its commitment to assisting people on the move and facilitating migration processes.
Responsibilities
The Supply Chain Assistant (Warehousing) is responsible for supporting all warehousing transactions in line with IOM guidelines. This includes assisting with the receiving, storing, packing, kitting, labelling, and dispatch of goods. The role supports stock replenishment by liaising with vendors for timely deliveries and assists with stock movements, including documentation. Responsibilities also encompass filling importation documentation for VAT and duty-free exemptions, filing stock withdrawal forms, and updating records in relevant platforms. The assistant will plan and organize efficient and safe storage, perform visual controls and spot checks, and assist in submitting timely reports and updating stock records. They will ensure high warehouse readiness for rapid stock movement, maintain logistic files, monitor office supply stocks, and prepare payment requests for vendors.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of progressively responsible professional experience in procurement, administrative services, or a related area is required. Experience in procurement or contract management within the UN system or an international public organization is desirable. Experience with ERP systems for purchasing/supply chain and professional certification (e.g., CIPS) are also advantageous.
Skills
Proficiency in Oracle and MS Office applications (Word, Excel). Ability to manage multiple tasks under time constraints, with accuracy and attention to detail. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work effectively in a team, collaborating with colleagues from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds.
