Organizational Context
IOM Austria and Egypt are launching the EAGLE Skills Mobility Partnership to deepen economic cooperation and strengthen migration routes. The project focuses on upskilling 135 individuals in metal technology and processing for the transport sector, with 100 targeted for emigration to Austria and 35 for the Egyptian labor market. A key component is establishing a robust screening and selection process.
Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to support the development and implementation of the EAGLE candidate selection framework, ensuring alignment with Austrian labor market requirements and employer expectations. This involves reviewing and recommending improvements to selection criteria, contributing to employer outreach strategies, and identifying Austrian companies interested in hiring project graduates. The ultimate goal is to facilitate the successful placement of EAGLE graduates into the Austrian labor market, particularly within the metal processing and transportation sectors, and to secure commitments from employers by spring 2027.
Responsibilities
The consultant will develop an inception workplan and participate in coordination meetings. Key responsibilities include providing technical advice on the EAGLE candidate selection framework through consultation meetings and reviewing selection criteria and eligibility. The role also involves reviewing and recommending enhancements to the private sector outreach, employer engagement, and candidate promotion strategies to boost employer participation and placement opportunities. Additionally, the consultant will support stakeholder engagement and identify potential Austrian employers, focusing on SMEs in the metal processing and transportation sectors, submitting a list of at least 25 interested companies.
Work Experience
Proven experience in recruitment, candidate assessment, and selection processes is required. Experience in private sector engagement and employer outreach, ideally within the metal processing sector, is also necessary. Knowledge of the Austrian labor market, employer needs, and labor migration frameworks is considered a distinct advantage.
Skills
Strong analytical, communication, and report-writing skills are essential. Fluency in German and English is required.
