Job Purpose

Responsibilities
Serve as the primary contact for recruitment and selection processes for Headquarters and global Professional category personnel. Manage job advertising requests, ensuring position descriptions align with IOM standards and providing guidance to hiring managers. Assist in screening applications based on established criteria and advise on preliminary assessment methods. Review candidate eligibility and qualifications, ensuring diversity and fairness in shortlists. Collaborate with selection panels to draft interview questions, schedule interviews, and support reference checks. Draft and review selection recommendation documents, coordinating approvals. Participate in talent community building and pipeline development initiatives. Liaise with HR Administration for timely mobilization and track offer acceptances. Address recruitment process issues, recommending solutions that balance hiring needs with policy. Respond to recruitment inquiries and maintain recruitment tracking lists and auditable records. Contribute to sourcing and attraction efforts, identify process improvements, and provide training support. Act as backup for the National Human Resource Officer and other Recruitment Assistants as needed.
Work Experience
Experience in processing HR transactions and familiarity with talent acquisition and management concepts. Proficiency in using social media for recruitment. Experience supporting recruitment in humanitarian or non-profit organizations is desirable. Experience with HR statistics and working in multicultural settings is also advantageous.
Skills
Knowledge of IOM/UN personnel and financial policies is advantageous. Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment and manage diverse tasks accurately. Strong client orientation and ability to build trust with stakeholders. Capacity to manage challenging client interactions effectively. High level of computer literacy and experience with HR IT systems.
