Job Purpose
This Project Associate (Liason, CCCM) position, at the G-5 grade, is a Special Short-Term contract until December 31, 2026, in Caracas, Venezuela. The role supports IOM's mission to manage migration humanely and orderly, working closely with various partners. The incumbent will contribute to the implementation of migration-related projects, ensuring effective coordination and support for migrants and displaced persons. This position is crucial for facilitating IOM's operational activities and achieving its objectives in the region, aligning with the organization's commitment to a respectful and inclusive workplace.
Responsibilities
The Project Associate will assist in the implementation and monitoring of project activities, including retrieving, compiling, and analyzing project-related data. Responsibilities include monitoring project budgets, acting as a focal point for administrative coordination, and liaising with diverse units and external parties. The role involves drafting status reports, correspondence, and other project documentation, identifying shortfalls, and suggesting remedial actions. Additionally, the associate will participate in meetings to coordinate implementation activities with local authorities and partners, monitor implementing partners, and provide guidance to junior staff. The position requires organizing meetings, workshops, and training sessions, and maintaining project files and records.
Work Experience
Experience is required in Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM), humanitarian projects, or community management. This includes facilitating communication between communities, authorities, and organizations, and organizing community meetings and feedback mechanisms. Experience with IOM, UN, or other international humanitarian organizations, along with report preparation and inter-agency coordination, is beneficial. Familiarity with donor reporting and project cycle management is also valuable.
