Job Purpose
The Project Associate (Collective Sites) role, based in Caracas, Venezuela, is a Special Short-Term G-5 position for General Service. This role is crucial for supporting IOM's mission by assisting in the implementation and monitoring of project activities related to collective sites. The incumbent will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, and presenting project data, managing administrative aspects of project implementation, and liaising with diverse stakeholders. This position contributes to ensuring the effective delivery of humanitarian assistance and support to migrants and displaced persons, particularly in collective sites, by maintaining operational efficiency and reporting on project progress and challenges.
Responsibilities
The Project Associate will assist in the implementation and monitoring of project activities, retrieving, compiling, and analyzing data for project topics. Responsibilities include monitoring project budgets, acting as a focal point for administrative coordination, and liaising extensively with internal units and external parties. The role involves drafting status reports, identifying shortfalls, and suggesting remedial actions. Additionally, the associate will draft correspondence, prepare reports and documentation, respond to information requests, maintain files, and organize meetings. Participation in meetings with stakeholders, monitoring implementing partners, reporting non-compliance, and providing guidance to junior staff are also key duties.
Work Experience
Required experience includes supporting collective centers, temporary shelters, or community facilities, and monitoring habitability and infrastructure needs. Experience coordinating with site managers and humanitarian actors, conducting field monitoring, and preparing field reports is essential. Previous work with IOM, UN, or similar international organizations is beneficial, as is experience in donor reporting, proposal development, and coordinating with implementing partners and local authorities.
