Senior Programme Associate
Organizational Context
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Poland, in partnership with the University of Warsaw, is implementing a project focused on ethical recruitment and promoting regular labor migration channels. This initiative is co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus under the European Funds for Social Development 2021–2027 programme. The Senior Programme Associate will support the Labour Mobility and Social Inclusion Programme activities in Poland, reporting to the Programme Coordinator and the Chief of Mission.
Job Purpose
The Senior Programme Associate will be instrumental in the implementation of the Labour Mobility and Social Inclusion Programme activities within Poland. This role supports a project aimed at enhancing capacity and knowledge regarding ethical recruitment practices and promoting regular migration channels to address labor market needs. The associate will contribute to the project's objectives by executing program activities, ensuring effective information dissemination to migrants, and facilitating their socio-economic inclusion. This position is crucial for the successful delivery of project outcomes, contributing to IOM's mandate in managing migration effectively and supporting vulnerable groups, under the direct supervision of the Programme Coordinator and overall guidance of the Chief of Mission.
Responsibilities
The Senior Programme Associate will assist in planning, coordinating, and monitoring program activities, including conducting beneficiary needs assessments using qualitative and quantitative methods. Responsibilities include identifying effective information channels for migrants, mapping stakeholder activities for synergy, and compiling/analyzing data for reports. The role involves delivering information and drafting materials on regular migration pathways to Poland, including legal aspects and risks. The associate will support project development by drafting proposal segments and monitoring budget implementation, acting as a focal point for administrative coordination. Additionally, the role requires organizing meetings, workshops, and training sessions, preparing materials, and participating in delivery. Maintaining liaison with local authorities, partners, UN agencies, and other stakeholders is essential. The position also involves drafting project reports, identifying delivery shortfalls, and suggesting corrective measures, alongside performing other assigned duties.
Work Experience
Requires at least 3 years of experience in implementing and coordinating projects related to migrant information provision or socio-economic integration. Experience working with vulnerable groups such as migrants, refugees, and victims of trafficking is essential. Proven experience in drafting project proposals, conducting needs assessments or research with methodological development, and creating informational materials for migrants is necessary. Experience liaising with governmental authorities and national/international institutions is also required. Prior work in a multicultural setting with international organizations is advantageous.
Skills
Excellent knowledge of migrants’ social economic inclusion and labor mobility to Poland; excellent knowledge of Polish immigration law; knowledge of migration management. Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills. Ability to provide clear information, organize work effectively under pressure, and meet deadlines. Capacity for independent work and teamwork in multicultural environments. Good computer literacy.
