Job Purpose
This Associate Programme Officer role supports the Bali Process Regional Support Office (RSO) in Bangkok, Thailand, through a consultancy contract until December 2026. The position is crucial for the effective execution of RSO programme activities and events, focusing on stakeholder engagement, partnerships, and event management. The role contributes to IOM's broader mission of promoting orderly migration and supporting governments and migrants by facilitating key processes and initiatives within the Bali Process framework. The officer will play a key part in coordinating logistics, preparing documentation, and supporting research and outreach efforts to advance the objectives of the Bali Process.
Responsibilities
The Associate Programme Officer will provide support for programme coordination and implementation, including assisting in the planning and execution of events, managing logistical arrangements for workshops and meetings, and preparing necessary documentation. Responsibilities also include maintaining programme records and tracking tools for accurate reporting. The role involves supporting research, monitoring, and reporting activities by drafting background notes, assisting with publications, and collecting data for M&E frameworks. Furthermore, the officer will contribute to stakeholder engagement by organizing consultations, managing follow-ups on action points, and drafting outreach materials. General duties include participating in cross-team efforts and upholding institutional integrity.
Work Experience
Relevant professional experience in the thematic area, providing operational, administrative, or project support is highly desirable. Experience with international organizations in a similar capacity is advantageous. Experience in organizing, supporting, and running events, as well as training and facilitation, is a strong asset.
