Organizational Context
The International Organization for Migration (IOM), established in 1951, is a UN-related agency focused on promoting humane and orderly migration. The IOM office in Armenia, active since 1993, supports the government in migration governance reforms through policy advice, capacity building, and technical assistance. This role contributes to the "Empowering Livelihoods and Economic Vitality in Fragile and Conflict Zones (ELEVATE)" project.
Job Purpose
This consultancy supports the "Empowering Livelihoods and Economic Vitality in Fragile and Conflict Zones (ELEVATE)" project within IOM Armenia. The role is crucial for enhancing communication and visibility efforts, aligning with IOM's branding and donor requirements. It involves producing and disseminating various communication materials in Armenian and English, including website updates, social media content, success stories, and newsletters. The consultant will also assist in organizing events, tracking communication performance, maintaining records, and coordinating with project staff and external service providers. The aim is to ensure effective communication of project activities and achievements, supporting IOM's mission in Armenia and its alignment with international standards.
Responsibilities
The consultant will be responsible for content production and dissemination, including drafting, translating, and distributing written, visual, and multimedia communications in Armenian and English, adhering to IOM branding and donor visibility guidelines. This includes updating website content, social media posts, success stories, newsletters, and presentations using approved templates and tools. The role involves maintaining a communications and events calendar, coordinating visibility activities with project staff and partners, and supporting the organization of meetings and events. Additionally, the consultant will track published content, compile performance data, document project activities through various media, monitor media coverage, and assist in organizing communication records and digital assets. Operational support, such as translation, proofreading, and assisting with the design of project documents, is also required.
Work Experience
Required experience includes communications, digital content creation, social media management, and public information work. Proficiency in producing high-quality content for various platforms (social media, websites, newsletters) and excellent writing skills in Armenian and English are essential. Experience with design tools like Canva, content management systems, and AI-assisted tools is needed, along with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Organizational skills for multitasking and prioritization are important. Experience in a development or humanitarian setting is desirable.
