Job Purpose
This Senior Project Associate (NFI) position, based in Caracas, Venezuela, is a Special Short-Term contract role until December 31, 2026. The role contributes to IOM's mission by supporting the planning, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of migration-related projects, particularly those involving Non-Food Items (NFI). The incumbent will assist in ensuring the effective delivery of project activities, provide administrative and operational support, and contribute to the overall success of IOM's humanitarian assistance and migration management efforts in the region. This position is crucial for operationalizing IOM's mandate to assist migrants and displaced persons.
Responsibilities
The Senior Project Associate will assist in planning, coordinating, and implementing project activities, including monitoring progress and budget. Responsibilities include compiling and analyzing project data, drafting reports, and preparing project documentation. The role involves acting as a focal point for administrative coordination, liaising extensively with internal units and external partners, and organizing meetings and workshops. The associate will also respond to information requests, maintain project files, and participate in relevant meetings. Additionally, they will monitor implementing partners, provide input for Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and concept papers, and offer guidance and training to other staff members, potentially supervising assigned personnel.
Work Experience
Required experience includes work in shelter, reconstruction, housing rehabilitation, or Non-Food Items (NFI) distribution programs. Experience supervising field activities, conducting needs assessments, beneficiary selection, and technical monitoring is essential. Demonstrated ability to prepare technical and operational reports, and prior experience with IOM, UN, or similar humanitarian organizations is highly valued. Experience in donor reporting, proposal development, and coordinating with local authorities and partners is also important.
