Job Purpose

Responsibilities
The National Project Officer (Shelter & NFI) will assist in coordinating and monitoring project operations, administration, and finances, ensuring compliance with IOM policies and donor requirements. Key duties include reporting project status, identifying implementation gaps, and proposing improvements. The role involves participating in the development of work plans, budgets, and M&E tools. Responsibilities also include collecting, verifying, and analyzing data, updating information systems, and preparing project reports. The officer will liaise with donors, partners, UN agencies, and government counterparts, and contribute to capacity-building activities. Additionally, the role entails supervising project staff, undertaking duty travel for monitoring and assessments, and participating in proposal development and communication efforts.
Work Experience
Experience is required in shelter, land, housing, community infrastructure, or humanitarian assistance programs, specifically supporting the planning, implementation, and monitoring of Shelter and Non-Food Items (NFI) projects. The role also requires experience coordinating with government institutions, humanitarian actors, and local communities, managing multidisciplinary teams, and knowledge of Sphere Standards. Familiarity with IOM or UN operational procedures and humanitarian principles is beneficial.
Skills
Spanish fluency (oral and written) is required. Working knowledge of English is desirable. Competencies include teamwork, delivering results, managing and sharing knowledge, accountability, communication, leadership, empowering others, building trust, strategic thinking, and humility.
