Job Purpose
The Project Associate (IP's) role at IOM in Caracas, Venezuela, is to support the implementation and monitoring of migration-related projects. This position contributes to the organization's mandate of promoting orderly and humane migration management by assisting in data analysis, administrative coordination, and reporting. The associate will help ensure project activities align with IOM's objectives, facilitate collaboration with partners, and contribute to addressing migration challenges and providing humanitarian assistance to migrants. Responsibilities
The Project Associate will assist in the implementation and monitoring of project activities, including retrieving, compiling, and analyzing project-related data. Responsibilities include monitoring project budgets, acting as a focal point for administrative coordination, and liaising with internal units and external parties. The role involves drafting status reports, identifying shortfalls, and escalating issues to supervisors. Additionally, the associate will draft correspondence, prepare reports and documentation, respond to information requests, maintain project files, and organize meetings and workshops. Participation in meetings with stakeholders, monitoring Implementing Partners (IPs), and providing guidance to junior staff are also key duties.
Work Experience
Experience is required in coordinating with implementing partners, local authorities, and community-based organizations for humanitarian programs. Proficiency in using monitoring tools and information management systems is necessary. Experience in preparing narrative and financial reports for donors and previous work with international humanitarian organizations like IOM or the UN are also essential.
