Job Purpose
This National Project Officer (CCCM) role in Caracas, Venezuela, is crucial for coordinating and monitoring project operations, administration, and finances in line with IOM policies and donor requirements. The position contributes to the effective implementation of projects, ensuring timely reporting, data management, and stakeholder coordination. The role involves developing work plans, budgets, and M&E tools, and supporting capacity-building activities. By liaising with partners and supervising project staff, the officer ensures project objectives are met, contributing to IOM's mission of assisting migrants and displaced persons.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include assisting in the coordination and monitoring of project operational, administrative, and financial aspects, ensuring compliance with IOM policies and donor requirements. The role involves keeping supervisors informed of project status, identifying gaps, and proposing improvements. Responsibilities extend to participating in the development of work plans, budgets, and M&E tools, and coordinating data collection, verification, and analysis. The officer will update information management systems, prepare and disseminate project reports, and liaise with donors, partners, UN agencies, and local authorities. Additionally, the role involves contributing to capacity-building activities, attending relevant meetings, participating in proposal development, supervising project staff, and undertaking duty travel for monitoring and liaison.
Work Experience
Required experience includes professional work in Temporary Settlements Management (Shelter, CCCM, DRM) related to humanitarian assistance and emergency response for mobile populations. Experience in humanitarian emergency response, working within the international cooperation system, and specifically in Venezuela within the CCCM sector is preferred. Knowledge of humanitarian principles, frameworks, and standards, particularly in CCCM, and experience in monitoring projects at national and local levels are also essential.
