Job Purpose
This Project Associate (CCCM) role, based in Caracas, Venezuela, is crucial for the implementation and monitoring of IOM's projects. The position supports the orderly and humane management of migration, contributing to practical solutions for emerging challenges and providing humanitarian assistance to migrants in need. The role involves extensive coordination with various stakeholders, data analysis, and reporting to ensure effective project delivery and address displacement issues. The associate will play a key part in strengthening IOM's support to people on the move.
Responsibilities
The Project Associate will assist in project implementation and monitoring, retrieving, compiling, and analyzing project-related data. Responsibilities include monitoring budgets, acting as a focal point for administrative coordination, and liaising with internal and external parties. The role involves drafting status reports, identifying shortfalls, and suggesting remedial actions. The associate will also draft correspondence, prepare reports and documentation, respond to information requests, maintain files, and organize meetings. Participation in meetings with local authorities, UN agencies, NGOs, and donors is expected. Additionally, the role includes monitoring Implementing Partners, reporting non-compliances, and providing guidance to junior staff.
Work Experience
Professional experience is required in Temporary Settlements Management sectors (Shelter, CCCM, DRM), humanitarian assistance, and emergency response for mobile populations. Experience within the international cooperation system, particularly in Venezuela, is preferred. Knowledge of humanitarian principles, frameworks, and standards, especially in CCCM, is essential. Experience in monitoring plans and projects at national and local levels, adapting strategies to different operational environments, is also necessary.
