Job Purpose
This Senior Supply Chain Associate (CCCM) position, based in Caracas, Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, is a Special Short-Term contract for General Service staff, initially until December 31, 2026. The role is crucial for supporting IOM's mission by ensuring the efficient and effective management of supply chain operations. The incumbent will contribute to the organization's ability to provide timely humanitarian assistance and support to migrants in need, including internally displaced persons. This role directly impacts the operational capacity of IOM in Venezuela, enabling the organization to respond effectively to migration challenges and deliver essential services.
Responsibilities
The Senior Supply Chain Associate will coordinate procurement activities, including reviewing requests, managing bidding processes, and ensuring timely delivery and payment. They will assist in complex purchases, develop procurement plans, and participate in negotiations. The role involves providing technical guidance on procurement procedures, identifying and evaluating suppliers, and contributing to tracking systems for contracts and schedules. Additionally, the associate will manage supply chain activities for property, assets, warehousing, and transportation, coordinate fleet activities, and oversee office facilities and equipment maintenance. Training and supervising junior staff, and actively participating in inter-agency supply chain forums are also key duties.
Work Experience
Required experience includes project administrative and logistics management, planning, organizing, and controlling supply chain processes. Proficiency with administrative management systems, ERP platforms, and advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly in data analysis, is necessary. Experience supervising personnel, coordinating logistics operations, and working with international humanitarian organizations or UN agencies is also essential.
