National Movement Operations Officer (field Support)

This role operates within the Movement Operations Units, coordinated by the Resettlement and Movement Management Division.

Job Purpose

The National Associate Movement Operations Officer plays a crucial role in managing the organized movement of persons requiring international migration assistance, a core mandate of IOM. This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of travel for migrants and refugees under IOM's auspices, ensuring compliance with agreements with governments and partners. The role contributes to the efficient and effective delivery of movement operations, supporting vulnerable individuals and ensuring their safe and orderly transit. By managing teams and coordinating services, the officer directly impacts the successful implementation of IOM's migration management programs and its commitment to providing essential support to people on the move.

Responsibilities

Oversee field support teams, including staff development, hiring, training, and performance management. Manage airport services for arriving and departing individuals, ensuring high-quality service delivery and appropriate interaction with officials. Coordinate movement and operations activities with relevant government bodies. Supervise staff assisting individuals at transit centers and third-party facilities, ensuring a safe, secure, and clean environment and adherence to IOM standards. Manage assets, inventories, financial paperwork, and vendor quality control. Coordinate interpretation and transportation services, ensuring compliance with IOM standards. Oversee pre-departure counseling and the handling of at-risk and sensitive cases, including unaccompanied refugee minors, and ensure prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA) training. Supervise quality assurance procedures, incident reporting, and data compilation for regular reporting to management. Maintain comprehensive understanding of Movement Operations SOPs and relevant systems, upholding IOM's Code of Conduct.

Work Experience

Prior experience in Movement Operations, particularly within IOM, is highly preferred. Knowledge of IOM's Movement Operations program implementation, including administrative, financial, and business rules and practices, is desirable.

Skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with and lead a team. Proficiency with IGator, MiMOSA, SAR, and Amadeus. Excellent computer skills, with high proficiency in spreadsheet and database applications.
