Job Purpose
This role is crucial for the efficient operation of the AVR Hub, contributing to IOM's mission of supporting migrants. The physician will conduct comprehensive health assessments, including medical examinations, imaging, laboratory testing, and vaccinations, to meet technical requirements. They will manage medical referrals, oversee treatment for conditions like TB and STIs, and ensure immunization programs align with public health standards. The position involves maintaining high-quality service delivery through data analysis, quality control, and adherence to SOPs, ensuring accurate data entry into IOM systems and coordinating procurement of medical supplies.
Responsibilities
Ensure the efficient daily operations of the AVR Hub in coordination with the Chief Migration Health Officer and Project Coordinator. Conduct migration health assessments covering medical examinations, imaging, laboratory testing, vaccinations, TB management, treatment, referrals, pre-departure procedures, and documentation. Identify and record migrants' medical needs accurately. Manage medical referrals and treatment plans for migrants. Perform treatment for TB and STIs, and support HIV activities. Oversee immunization and presumptive treatment programs according to Cyprus public health guidelines. Implement quality improvement systems, conduct regular quality control, and ensure adherence to global and specific SOPs. Organize data collection, processing, and analysis for migration health activities, ensuring data quality and reporting. Ensure accurate data entry into MiMOSA and other databases. Coordinate procurement of medical equipment and supplies.
Work Experience
Requires a minimum of two years of continuous clinical experience post-graduation, preferably in a multidisciplinary hospital setting, with the last posting within the last five years. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, spreadsheet, and database software is necessary, along with knowledge of patient safety and infection control.
