Job Purpose
The Senior Project Associate (CCCM) role in Caracas, Venezuela, is crucial for the effective planning, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of project activities within the CCCM (Camp Coordination and Camp Management) sector. This position supports IOM's mandate to provide humanitarian assistance and practical solutions for migrants and internally displaced persons. The role contributes to ensuring orderly and humane migration management by assisting in the operationalization of projects, managing administrative aspects, and liaising with various stakeholders to address emerging challenges and support vulnerable populations.
Responsibilities
The Senior Project Associate (CCCM) will assist in project planning, coordination, implementation, and monitoring, including compiling and analyzing project data. Responsibilities include monitoring budget implementation, acting as a focal point for administrative coordination, and liaising with internal and external parties. The role involves drafting status reports, correspondence, and project documentation, as well as organizing meetings and training sessions. Additionally, the associate will maintain liaison with local authorities and partners, monitor implementing partners for compliance, and contribute to the development of Standard Operations Procedures and new project concepts. The position may also involve supervising other staff and providing guidance.
Work Experience
Required experience includes professional work in Temporary Settlements Management sectors (Shelter, CCCM, DRM) related to humanitarian assistance and emergency response for mobile populations. Experience in humanitarian emergency response, working within international cooperation, and specifically in Venezuela is preferred. Knowledge of humanitarian principles, frameworks, and standards, particularly in CCCM, is essential. Experience in monitoring plans and projects at national and local levels, adapting strategies to different environments, is also required.
Skills
Proficiency in Spanish (oral and written) is required. Working knowledge of English is desirable. Skills include project planning, coordination, implementation, monitoring, budget monitoring, administrative coordination, data analysis, report drafting, stakeholder liaison, and potentially staff supervision. Understanding of humanitarian principles and CCCM sector standards is also key.
