Job Purpose
The Project Associate - Immigration and Border Governance (IBG) role is crucial for supporting IOM's mission in Tunisia. This position contributes to the effective implementation and monitoring of migration and border governance projects. The associate will assist in managing project activities, ensuring adherence to timelines and objectives, and facilitating communication among stakeholders. By providing essential administrative and programmatic support, the role directly impacts IOM's ability to deliver services, protect vulnerable populations, and promote orderly migration processes. The position is key to achieving project goals and strengthening IOM's operational capacity in the region, contributing to the overall mandate of fostering humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all.
Responsibilities
The Project Associate will assist in project implementation and monitoring, focusing on M&E, reporting, and communication. Key duties include retrieving, analyzing, and presenting project-related information, and monitoring project budgets. The role involves acting as an administrative focal point, liaising with internal units and external parties to process actions and resolve issues. Responsibilities also include drafting status reports, correspondence, and other project documentation, as well as responding to information requests and organizing meetings. The associate will participate in meetings with stakeholders, monitor implementing partners, and support the development of communication materials and project reports. Additionally, the role involves assisting with M&E data collection and performing other assigned duties.
Work Experience
Required experience includes liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, UN agencies, and NGOs. Experience working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking, and other vulnerable groups is essential. Prior experience in international humanitarian organizations or multi-cultural settings is advantageous. Experience in project monitoring and evaluation, creating communication materials, reporting, and project development is considered an asset.
Skills
Key skills include strong organizational, planning, and coordination abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required, with Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign) skills being an asset. Excellent time management, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills are necessary. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, Arabic, and French are essential, along with the ability to work effectively in a diverse, multicultural team environment.
