Job Purpose
This role supports the successful implementation of assigned projects within the Labour Migration and Social Inclusion Area. The primary purpose is to assist in delivering protection-focused training on topics related to vulnerabilities, protection, and risk factors affecting migrants. This involves applying IOM's institutional protection frameworks, standards, guidelines, and best practices in humanitarian and migration settings. The position contributes to strengthening the capacities of project teams and providing technical guidance to cultural mediators, ensuring the transversal integration of the protection approach and adherence to IOM's protection principles across all interventions. The role also involves supporting project monitoring, reporting, and financial oversight to ensure effective project delivery and compliance.
Responsibilities
Assist in the successful implementation of assigned projects in the Labour Migration and Social Inclusion Area. Support the delivery of protection-focused training on migrant vulnerabilities, risks, and relevant normative frameworks, IOM policies, and humanitarian best practices. Aid in designing training content and developing/delivering capacity-building actions for project teams and cultural mediators, ensuring the integration of protection principles. Provide support in monitoring border procedures and the European Pact on Migration and Asylum. Assist in technical and economic project monitoring, database updates, progress reporting, and results matrix compliance. Support financial monitoring and expenditure planning in coordination with project focal points and finance departments, ensuring budget adherence. Assist in identifying new initiatives and developing concept notes and project documents. Conduct field travel as required and perform other assigned tasks.
Work Experience
Demonstrated experience in project implementation and management, including technical and economic monitoring and report preparation. Experience in developing and delivering training (participatory methods, case studies) both in-person and virtually. Experience working with migrant populations, particularly vulnerable groups and children, and with public administration actors. Knowledge of national and international protection and migration frameworks is required. Proficiency in IT and Microsoft Office 365 is essential.
