IOM Ireland, operational since 2001, engages in various migration management areas, including Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS). This role supports a project providing MHPSS to international protection applicants in Dublin, aiming to enhance their well-being and resilience.
Job Purpose
This Project Assistant role provides essential administrative, HR, and finance support for the MHPSS project in Ireland. The project aims to deliver Community-Based Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (CB MHPSS) to international protection applicants, improving their psychosocial well-being and resilience. The incumbent will work under the supervision of the Project Manager and Site Coordinator, ensuring efficient day-to-day operations and adherence to IOM's administrative and financial procedures. This position is crucial for the successful implementation of MHPSS services, contributing directly to the support and well-being of vulnerable individuals seeking protection in Ireland.
Responsibilities
The Project Assistant will support the MHPSS Site Coordinator in managing administrative, financial, and HR activities for the project. Key duties include processing staff expense and travel claims according to IOM rules, assisting with procurement of project items, and maintaining accurate filing of all administrative and HR documents. The role involves following up on internal administrative and financial processes with relevant units and providing general clerical support. The incumbent will assist the Site Coordinator throughout all stages of administrative and HR functions related to the project and perform other assigned duties to ensure smooth project implementation.
Work Experience
Proven experience in a similar role and setting is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and excellent IT knowledge are essential. Experience with EU/international funding instruments, financial management, reporting, accounting, budgeting, and internal controls is advantageous. Strong interpersonal, intercultural skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain accuracy and confidentiality are necessary.
