Organizational Context
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in the United Kingdom provides programming to support migrants, including immigration advice and casework. Job Purpose
This Caseworker role is crucial for IOM UK's mission to support vulnerable migrants by providing specialist legal counselling and regulated casework. The incumbent will manage a caseload, assist individuals in completing immigration applications, and liaise with stakeholders on policy and project development. The role contributes to IOM's commitment to promoting humane and orderly migration, saving lives, protecting people on the move, and facilitating pathways for regular migration. The Caseworker will support various immigration cases, including EUSS, MVDAC/SET(DV), UPE, and Citizenship applications, ensuring high standards of client care and compliance with IAA regulations.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive immigration counselling and casework support to vulnerable individuals, managing caseloads effectively and ensuring high standards of client care. Comply with all case management systems, administrative procedures, and quality standards set by donors, the IAA, and IOM. Deliver training and awareness-raising sessions to partner agencies and maintain strong relationships with relevant stakeholders for project delivery. Stay updated on legal policy changes, analyse and disseminate legal information, and contribute to policy development for IOM UK. Travel within the UK as required and perform other assigned duties.
Work Experience
Requires a minimum of four years of immigration and asylum casework experience, with at least one year at IAA Level 2 or above. Must demonstrate ability to manage a caseload under pressure, deal sensitively with vulnerable clients, and engage effectively with stakeholders. Experience with specific application types (EUSS, MVDAC/SET(DV), UPE, Citizenship) and working with unaccompanied migrant children is preferred.
Skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational, administrative, time management, and attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel). Experience in international organizations is advantageous.
