Job Purpose
The Senior Programme Associate (MECC/DRR) provides crucial programmatic support to the RE2CLID Programme in Kigoma Region, Tanzania. This role is vital for ensuring high-quality planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of activities aimed at addressing climate- and disaster-induced displacement. The incumbent will facilitate effective coordination among internal teams, government counterparts, implementing partners, and other stakeholders. Key contributions include supporting evidence-based programming, coherent delivery, stakeholder engagement, research, capacity-building, and knowledge management, ultimately strengthening the programme's impact on community resilience and recovery.
Responsibilities
The Senior Programme Associate will support programme activity planning, coordination, and implementation according to work plans. Responsibilities include assisting in monitoring and evaluation by maintaining trackers, compiling data, and supporting analysis and reporting. The role involves drafting and consolidating inputs for donor reports, internal updates, and other programme documentation. Effective coordination with internal units, field teams, government, and partners is essential for coherent implementation. The associate will also contribute to stakeholder engagement, research, information gathering, and knowledge sharing. Additionally, the role includes organizing and documenting trainings, workshops, and meetings, as well as supporting capacity-building initiatives and knowledge management processes.
Work Experience
Requires experience in programme support, project implementation, monitoring and evaluation, reporting, or coordination within humanitarian, resilience, or development programmes. Demonstrated experience in preparing reports and programme updates, supporting coordination with government and partners, and organizing events is necessary. Familiarity with research, knowledge management, and IOM systems or DRR programming is advantageous.
Skills
Strong programme coordination, organizational, and multitasking skills. Proficient in monitoring and evaluation, reporting, and documentation. Good information management, research, and writing abilities. Capacity to support stakeholder coordination, capacity-building, and knowledge management. Familiarity with UN agencies and Microsoft Office is advantageous.
