Job Purpose
The Project Associate (Monitoring and Evaluation) will support the implementation and monitoring of project activities within IOM's mission in Venezuela. This role is crucial for ensuring project effectiveness and accountability by collecting, analyzing, and reporting on project data. The associate will contribute to the overall success of migration management initiatives by providing timely and accurate information, identifying potential issues, and supporting administrative coordination. This position plays a key part in IOM's commitment to providing humanitarian assistance and advancing international cooperation on migration issues, ultimately supporting vulnerable populations and governments.
Responsibilities
The Project Associate will assist in the implementation and monitoring of project activities, retrieving, compiling, analyzing, and presenting project data. Responsibilities include monitoring budgets, acting as a focal point for administrative coordination, and liaising with diverse units and external parties. The role involves drafting status reports, identifying shortfalls, and suggesting remedial actions. The associate will also draft correspondence, prepare reports and documentation, respond to information requests, maintain files, and organize meetings. Participation in meetings with stakeholders, monitoring implementing partners, and providing guidance to junior staff are also key duties, alongside performing other assigned tasks.
Work Experience
Required experience includes liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, UN agencies, and non-governmental organizations. Experience working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking, and other vulnerable groups is also necessary. Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations or government institutions in a multicultural setting is considered an advantage.
Skills
Proficiency in computer literacy is required. The role demands the ability to work effectively with national and international institutions, prepare clear and concise reports, and possess good communication skills. Additionally, the ability to identify resource requirements and report them to a supervisor is essential.
