Job Purpose
The Senior Project Associate will execute assigned functions to support the IOM Mexico project, which focuses on strengthening the Mexican government's capacity to assist and reintegrate returning Mexicans. The role contributes to improving access to essential services and information, fostering effective community integration, and ensuring the full exercise of rights for returnees. This involves developing and disseminating a national service guide, enhancing inter-institutional coordination, and strengthening the response capabilities of various government levels to support more informed, accessible, and sustainable reintegration processes, aligning with national and international migration priorities.
Responsibilities
Support the planning, coordination, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of project activities according to work plans. Participate in recruiting and monitoring consultants. Coordinate and develop activities with federal, state, and municipal government counterparts. Maintain and strengthen cooperation with key national partners like UNOPS and SRE. Monitor synergies and avoid duplication of efforts within active IOM programs. Participate in inter-institutional coordination meetings and promote strategic alliances. Promote the adoption of gender and human rights perspectives in project activities. Provide regular progress updates and identify solutions to challenges. Undertake work travel as necessary. Coordinate administrative tasks for project implementation and prepare technical and financial reports. Support programmatic development and resource mobilization by drafting project proposals and identifying funding opportunities. Conduct research and analysis for knowledge products to inform institutional programming and decision-making. Strengthen institutional coordination and staff capacities through training and support for inter-institutional mechanisms. Contribute to the organization's visibility.
Work Experience
Requires four years of relevant professional experience in projects related to migration management, human rights, or labor migration. Experience working with international organizations, non-governmental organizations, or governmental bodies is also necessary.
