Organizational Context
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Guyana seeks a Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant to support the Global Assisted Voluntary Return Program. Job Purpose
The Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant is responsible for providing essential analytical and operational support to the Global Assisted Voluntary Return (AVR) Program in Guyana. This role is critical for the effective monitoring, reporting, and evaluation of program activities. The incumbent will ensure accurate data entry, support field monitoring, assist in report generation, and contribute to evaluation processes. By maintaining high data quality standards and supporting learning activities, the assistant directly contributes to the program's success, accountability, and continuous improvement, ensuring that beneficiary needs and program outcomes are accurately captured and reflected.
Responsibilities
The Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant will support the planning and implementation of M&E activities for the AVR Global Program. Key duties include coordinating with case managers for timely and accurate data entry into MiMOSA, verifying records, and maintaining documentation for data quality. The role involves supporting monitoring through field visits and data collection with beneficiaries, administering surveys, and ensuring data accuracy. Additionally, the assistant will support report preparation by providing accurate data to project staff and assist in compiling information for internal and external reports like SitReps and donor reports. The position also entails supporting quantitative and qualitative evaluation processes through data collection, entry, and preliminary analysis, and contributing to learning activities by preparing documentation and organizing feedback. Furthermore, the role involves contributing to knowledge management by collecting and reviewing project-related knowledge products and documenting good practices, while also supporting adherence to IOM's compliance standards and accountability to affected populations.
Work Experience
Experience working with migrants, civil society, and governments is required. Desirable experience includes managing protection programming across multiple countries, providing protection and assistance to vulnerable migrants, and experience with IOM or other UN agencies, particularly in assisted voluntary return and reintegration programs.
