Job Purpose
The primary purpose of this internship is to provide crucial operational support to the Global Shared Services Centre (GSSC) Wave Support team, contributing significantly to the efficient functioning and maintenance of the Wave System. Under the direct supervision of the Wave System Admin Senior User Support Associate and overall direction of the National Customer Service Officer, the intern will be instrumental in assisting with critical system administration tasks. This includes ensuring seamless user access, proper permission management across various environments, and the execution of essential system maintenance activities such as job scheduling and database queries. The intern's contribution will directly support the GSSC's mandate to deliver reliable and effective shared services, thereby enhancing system stability, security, and user experience across the organization. Responsibilities
The intern will undertake a range of system administration responsibilities crucial for the efficient operation and maintenance of the Wave System within the Global Shared Services Centre. A primary duty involves comprehensive user account management, including the creation of new production user accounts and providing timely troubleshooting support to resolve access-related issues for existing users, ensuring uninterrupted workflow. The role also encompasses meticulous roles and permissions management, where the intern will assist in defining, assigning, and reviewing appropriate access levels for users within the production environment, adhering to security protocols. Furthermore, the intern will be involved in managing permissions across lower environments, which are vital for development, testing, and staging, ensuring consistency and integrity throughout the system lifecycle. A significant component of the role is the execution of essential system maintenance tasks. This includes the precise scheduling and running of system jobs, executing various scripts to automate processes or address specific system requirements, and performing complex database queries for data extraction, analysis, and system health monitoring. These responsibilities are critical for maintaining the Wave System's stability, security, and optimal performance, directly supporting the operational needs and service delivery of the Global Shared Services Centre.
Work Experience
While not strictly required, prior internship experience is highly desirable for this role. Candidates with previous practical exposure in a relevant professional setting will be at an advantage.
Skills
Required skills include proficiency in Information System administration, experience with Active Directory, knowledge of Single Sign-On (SSO) synchronization, and competence in SQL and scripting.
