Job Purpose
The Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of authorized IOM vehicles. This role ensures the reliable transportation of personnel and goods, contributing to the smooth execution of IOM's operations in Panama City. The Driver will manage vehicle maintenance, maintain accurate records, and adhere to all driving regulations and security protocols. This position supports the Human Resources Associate and collaborates with relevant units to facilitate daily activities and ensure the availability and roadworthiness of assigned vehicles.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include operating assigned IOM vehicles for official duties, managing daily vehicle maintenance to ensure roadworthiness, and arranging for minor repairs and cleaning. The Driver will maintain records of spare parts, conduct monthly inventory, and ensure vehicles undergo regular servicing. This role involves identifying safe and efficient routes, ensuring vehicles are used solely for authorized purposes, and preparing daily log sheets and monthly reports on mileage and fuel consumption. The Driver must maintain confidentiality, be discreet in discussions, and take actions to mitigate security threats. Additional duties include meeting officials at airports, facilitating customs, collecting and delivering mail and documents, and assisting with simple clerical tasks when required.
Work Experience
Required experience includes knowledge of driving rules and regulations, experience driving various makes and models of vehicles, and proficiency in minor vehicle repairs. Familiarity with radio, email, and telephone applications is also necessary.
Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, E-mail). Strong attention to detail, methodical organization of paperwork, discretion, client-orientation, patience, and a willingness to learn.
