Job Purpose
This role is responsible for supporting and assisting the achievement of the objectives and results of the IBG Unit, as well as ensuring the successful day-to-day implementation of the unit's project activities. The Programme Associate will work under the overall supervision of the Senior Programme Coordinator and the direct supervision of national programme officers or senior programme associates within the IBG Unit. The position requires active collaboration with relevant units of stakeholder agencies, managing administrative processes, and reporting on project progress and challenges. The role contributes to the effective delivery of IOM's migration management initiatives.
Responsibilities
Assist and contribute to the IBG Unit in implementing project activities, collaborating closely with stakeholder agencies. Support day-to-day activities and administrative processes, reporting regularly on challenges and progress. Carry out operational, administrative, and logistical processes in accordance with IOM rules. Assist with planning, organizing, and arranging conferences, seminars, and workshops. Prepare analytical notes, draft research reports, briefing notes, and policy papers. Support the preparation of concept notes and project proposals. Research, compile, analyze, and share information on migration management developments. Monitor project activities and update project plans. Perform informal translations of correspondence and documents as needed. Maintain project-related files and perform other assigned duties.
Work Experience
Experience in project management, particularly in migration management, is required. Familiarity with relevant national/international policies is an asset. Experience in liaising with governmental authorities and institutions is beneficial. Skills in writing papers, briefings, and articles are advantageous. The ability to travel and good computer literacy are also noted.
