Job Purpose
This role is crucial for supporting and assisting the International Organization for Migration (IOM) IBG Unit in achieving its objectives and delivering successful project outcomes. The Programme Associate will be instrumental in the day-to-day implementation of the unit's projects, ensuring activities are carried out effectively and efficiently. By providing essential support in operational, administrative, and logistical processes, the incumbent contributes directly to the successful execution of migration management initiatives. This position plays a key part in facilitating IOM's mission to promote humane and orderly migration, protect people on the move, and support governments and migrants.
Responsibilities
Assist and contribute to the IBG Unit's project activities, collaborating closely with stakeholders. Support daily operational, administrative, and logistical processes in line with IOM regulations. Aid in planning, organizing, and arranging conferences, seminars, and workshops. Prepare analytical notes, draft research reports, briefing notes, and policy papers. Support the development of concept notes and project proposals. Research, compile, and analyze information on migration management developments. Monitor project activities and update project plans. Perform informal translations of correspondence and documents as needed. Maintain project-related files and perform other assigned duties.
Work Experience
Experience in project management, particularly in migration management, is required. Familiarity with national/international migration policies is advantageous. Experience liaising with governmental authorities and institutions, working in the region, and writing papers or briefings is beneficial. Strong analytical, interpersonal, organizational, and computer literacy skills are essential. Ability to travel is also required.
