Job Purpose

Responsibilities
The National Project Officer will coordinate overall project implementation, overseeing financial, administrative, and technical aspects in compliance with IOM policies and donor requirements. This includes providing operational guidance and technical supervision to project staff, assisting with programmatic strategy, and monitoring progress against objectives. The role involves developing and implementing a Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) framework, identifying project development priorities, and contributing to new project proposals by assessing local contexts. The officer will supervise project staff, consultants, and implementing partners, and organize capacity-building activities for various stakeholders. Responsibilities also include liaising with government entities, UN agencies, and other partners, managing project information, drafting progress and financial reports, and representing IOM in relevant forums and working groups. Undertaking duty travel for coordination and monitoring is also required.

Required experience includes programme conceptualization, monitoring, reporting, and evaluation; project development and capacity-building; liaising with governmental and international institutions; familiarity with financial and business administration; understanding of migration issues; organizing stakeholder consultations; knowledge of migration subject areas; and familiarity with UN and donor programming.
