Job Purpose
The Senior Programme Support Associate in IOM Sudan plays a crucial role in supporting project development, reporting, and partnership coordination activities. This position directly contributes to the implementation of IOM's strategic objectives by assisting the Programme Support Officer in compiling information for project proposals, concept notes, and donor reports. The role involves close collaboration with internal units, regional offices, and headquarters, ensuring alignment with IOM's global, regional, and country strategies. By facilitating effective programme coordination and reporting, the incumbent helps strengthen IOM's capacity to manage migration effectively and support vulnerable populations.
Responsibilities
The Senior Programme Support Associate is responsible for supporting programme coordination and communication with internal units, regional specialists, and headquarters. This includes gathering information on funding and partnership opportunities. The role involves assisting in project development by coordinating inputs and documentation for proposals and concept notes, and facilitating donor compliance. The incumbent will support the review and endorsement process for project documents and donor reports using IOM's software. Additionally, the associate will aid in preparing materials for donor engagement, maintaining donor profiles, and assisting Project Managers with donor reporting obligations. Responsibilities also include updating information management systems, supporting monitoring and evaluation logistics, and contributing to capacity-building activities for mission staff.
Work Experience
Experience working in an international organization and familiarity with the UN system are required. The role necessitates experience in supporting project development, donor reporting, proposal coordination, and programme coordination, preferably within the international development or humanitarian sector. Experience with relevant donors, their funding mechanisms, and compliance requirements is essential. Desirable experience includes knowledge of monitoring and evaluation methodologies and working in the field of migration.
Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Strong writing, organizational, and communication skills for preparing reports and documentation. Familiarity with humanitarian sector information management systems. Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation concepts. Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, prioritize tasks under pressure, and maintain attention to detail.
