Job Purpose
This internship aims to attract talented students and graduates interested in migration-related fields. The intern will provide essential administrative support to the Human Resources Unit, contributing to the smooth execution of HR tasks. This role offers a valuable opportunity to gain practical experience in an international multicultural environment within the UN system, enhancing understanding of IOM's operations and HR processes. The intern will support recruitment, maintain personnel files, and assist with HR-related events, gaining exposure to organizational management and international cooperation.
Responsibilities
The intern will provide clerical assistance to the Human Resources Unit under the supervision of the HR Officer and HR Assistant. Key duties include supporting local recruitment processes by circulating vacancy announcements, arranging interviews, preparing necessary materials, conducting reference checks, and communicating with candidates. The intern will also maintain complete and orderly personnel files, both electronic and hard copy, including assisting with e-filing in WAVE HCM. Additionally, the role involves supporting the organization of meetings, training, and HR events through logistical arrangements, correspondence, and document preparation. Other related duties as assigned will also be part of the responsibilities.
Work Experience
Interns should have less than two years of relevant working experience. Experience gained through coursework, research, student organizations, or previous internships in HR principles and practices is beneficial.
Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information discreetly. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Knowledge of HR principles and practices.
