Job Purpose
This role provides comprehensive support to the Climate Change and Migration Data (CCMD) Project at IOM Egypt, under the supervision of the M&E Assistant and National Monitoring & Evaluation Officer. The M&E Enumerator is responsible for collecting high-quality, accurate, and timely data from beneficiaries and stakeholders. This data is crucial for monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on project activities. The project, funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, addresses climate change, environmental degradation, and human mobility in Egypt, aiming to strengthen community resilience, protect migrant rights, and enhance their ability to withstand environmental changes. The role contributes to developing sustainable mechanisms, providing technical support, and increasing public awareness to mitigate climate-related risks and foster resilience.
Responsibilities
Conduct systematic data collection via phone surveys, interviews, and Focus Group Discussions using agreed methodologies and electronic tools like Kobo Toolbox. Ensure timely and accurate data entry and submission, maintaining high standards of data quality, completeness, consistency, and validity. Adhere strictly to IOM Data Protection Principles, ensuring confidentiality and secure data handling. Submit daily outputs and datasets promptly, preparing concise daily field reports detailing progress, challenges, and observations. Provide basic analysis of field data, highlighting key trends and insights, and contribute to narrative reporting by documenting field observations. Uphold ethical standards in fieldwork, including the 'Do No Harm' principle and respectful engagement with vulnerable populations. Comply with IOM policies, including the Code of Conduct, PSEA, and safeguarding requirements. Perform other related tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Work Experience
Previous experience in quantitative and qualitative data collection, including surveys and interviews, is required. Experience with electronic data collection platforms like Kobo Toolbox is essential. Experience in humanitarian, development, or migration programs, working with UN agencies, international organizations, NGOs, or government institutions, and conducting fieldwork in diverse environments is desirable.
