Job Purpose
The Project Associate will support and coordinate the objectives and results of the 'Provision of Jobs and Socio-Economic Inclusion to Support Transition to Formal Employment in Türkiye' project. This involves ensuring the successful day-to-day implementation of project activities aimed at driving economic growth, promoting formal employment for Syrian refugees, persons under international protection, and host community members, and improving livelihoods in Türkiye. The role contributes to a comprehensive strategy that facilitates the transition of informal workers to formal employment through financial incentives, training, awareness campaigns, and inter-institutional coordination, while promoting respect for diversity and supporting vulnerable groups.
Responsibilities
Assist in the implementation and monitoring of project activities, including retrieving, compiling, analyzing, and presenting data. Monitor project budgets, verify fund availability, and obtain necessary approvals. Serve as a focal point for administrative coordination, liaising with internal units and external parties. Draft status reports, identify delivery shortfalls, and propose remedial actions. Prepare correspondence, reports, briefing notes, and other documentation. Respond to information requests, maintain files, and organize meetings and training sessions. Participate in meetings and assist in coordinating implementation activities with local authorities, partners, UN agencies, and other stakeholders. Monitor implementing partners' work and report non-compliances. Provide guidance to junior staff and perform other related duties as assigned.
Work Experience
Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, UN agencies, and NGOs. Experience working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, and other vulnerable groups. Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations or government institutions in a multicultural setting is advantageous.
Skills
In-depth knowledge of migration-related subject areas. Knowledge of UN and bilateral donor programming. Knowledge of financial rules and regulations. Fluency in English and Turkish (oral and written).
