Job Purpose
This role involves implementing Protection programmatic responses within Camp As Saliyah, under the guidance of the Protection Coordinator and Officer. The incumbent will work in close coordination with relevant units and partners to ensure activities align with IOM policies, SOPs, and IASC guidelines on Protection, including Gender-based Violence (GBV) and Child Protection in Humanitarian Action. The position contributes to identifying and addressing protection needs during operational transitions and closure periods, ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable populations.
Responsibilities
Key duties include supporting protection assessments and consultations with affected populations using participatory methods to identify ongoing needs. The role involves providing operational support to case management activities, including referrals, documentation, and in-kind assistance for immediate protection needs. Responsibilities also encompass supporting other protection interventions like Child Friendly Spaces and community-based protection activities. The incumbent will assist in planning, organizing, and documenting protection activities, compiling and summarizing protection data, and preparing operational closure materials. This includes creating summaries of completed activities, pending actions, lessons learned, and updating service mappings and referral information for reporting and handover purposes.
Work Experience
Experience in case management for at-risk individuals in emergency response is necessary. Experience coordinating and managing the needs of at-risk individuals or Unaccompanied and Separated Children (UASCs) is a distinct advantage. Strong computer skills in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint are also required.
