Job Purpose
This internship offers a valuable opportunity for students and graduates to gain practical experience in Human Resources and Administrative functions within a multicultural, international environment. The intern will support the HR and Admin units under the supervision of the Chief of Mission and Head of Resources Management. The role is designed to develop professional skills while contributing to IOM's mission. The program aims to attract individuals with a specific interest in migration-related activities, who are either nearing the end of their university studies or have recently graduated, and meet age and experience criteria.
Responsibilities
Human Resources Support: Provide administrative and clerical assistance for HR activities, including candidate communication, interview logistics, and recruitment process support. Maintain electronic personnel files and HR documentation. Assist with onboarding new staff by coordinating with relevant units. Monitor staff attendance, leave, and training compliance. Update HR databases and prepare HR correspondence and reports. Support the organization of staff learning and development initiatives.
Administrative Support: Offer reception services, manage mail and document distribution, and assist with scanning, filing, and archiving. Help organize meetings and events. Support inventory management of office supplies. Provide general administrative assistance to ensure efficient office operations.
Work Experience
Previous experience in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is advantageous. Experience with administrative tasks, document management, and absence management is beneficial. Exposure to event planning, training coordination, or employee engagement activities is a plus. Experience in a multicultural or international setting is also an advantage.
Skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to draft professional correspondence and reports. Excellent organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Ability to manage virtual meeting platforms. Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration and stakeholder engagement. Professionalism and adaptability in a diverse, international environment.
