Job Purpose
The PSEAH Officer in Jakarta will support and manage the day-to-day technical oversight of IOM's prevention of and response to sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA) activities in Indonesia. As the in-country PSEA expert, the role is crucial for implementing PSEA initiatives in close coordination with the Chief of Mission and as an active member of the interagency PSEA Network. The position contributes technical expertise to PSEA within programming, particularly in resettlement and health assessment, while the Chief of Mission retains overall accountability for PSEA within the country.
Responsibilities
The PSEAH Officer is responsible for coordinating and implementing the annual PSEAH Work Plan, ensuring alignment with IOM and UN strategies. This includes mainstreaming PSEAH into country strategies and programming, supporting the PSEAH Network Indonesia, and managing data related to PSEAH efforts. Prevention duties involve identifying and mitigating SEAH risks, developing and delivering PSEAH training for staff, partners, and beneficiaries, and updating communication materials. In response, the officer acts as the PSEAH Focal Point, coordinating victim assistance referrals, monitoring risks, and supporting GBV/child protection efforts. The role also involves UN PSEAH coordination, supporting joint strategies, and engaging with stakeholders.
Work Experience
Requires two years of relevant professional experience with a Master's degree, or four years of relevant professional experience with a University degree in fields such as law, international relations, psychology, social sciences, development studies, or planning.
Skills
Knowledge of IOM's PSEA approach, strategies, and policies; understanding of the UN system; expertise in mainstreaming best practices and partnership models; and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
