Project Associate (information Outreach Assistant)

This Project Associate role supports the implementation of project activities under the "assisted voluntary returns and reintegration" program, reporting to the National Project Officer (AVRR) and Project Associate (Information Outreach Team Leader).
Job Purpose
The Project Associate (Information Outreach Assistant) plays a crucial role in supporting the implementation of project activities under the "Implementation of assisted voluntary returns and reintegration measures as well as operation of Accommodation Center for applicants of voluntary returns" program. The primary purpose is to assist the Project Associate (Information Outreach Team Leader) and National Project Officer (AVRR) in strategic planning and identifying key departmental priorities. This ensures that the department effectively fulfills project policies and commitments, while also monitoring essential administrative procedures such as staff attendance, leave approvals, expenses, and evaluations. The role contributes significantly to maintaining effective information outreach for AVRR programs, enhancing IOM's visibility across various regions, and facilitating smooth operational procedures for voluntary returns and reintegration initiatives, ultimately benefiting migrants and supporting governmental partners.
Responsibilities
The incumbent will support the Project Associate (Information Outreach Team Leader) in coordinating and overseeing the work of AVRR/OCAVRR Information Outreach Assistants. This includes assisting the National Project Officer and Team Leader in strategic planning, identifying departmental priorities, and ensuring project implementation adheres to IOM's procedures and project requirements. The role involves monitoring administrative procedures for the unit, such as staff attendance, leave approvals, expenses, and evaluations.
Key duties also include preparing and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in coordination with the Operations Unit, and evaluating/updating specialized tools for collecting data on migration trends and AVRR. The Project Associate will provide updates to the National Project Officer on Information Outreach activities, develop and monitor AVRR presence across Greece to enhance IOM’s visibility, and adopt a problem-solving approach to operational challenges.
Furthermore, the role requires coordinating and conducting field AVRR information visits across Greece to present key points, strengthen cooperation with local authorities and agents, and increase awareness of AVRR trends. Findings and recommendations will be reported to management. The incumbent will share and update information with AVRR Outreach Assistants regarding procedures and legislative changes, cooperate with all departments to meet Outreach Assistants’ needs, and identify/sustain key stakeholder relationships relevant to AVRR activities.
Work Experience
Previous experience in a similar function is advantageous. Required experience includes project implementation of AVRR or related humanitarian programs, and liaising with governmental, diplomatic, national, and international institutions. Strong experience in working effectively with local authorities, stakeholders, beneficiaries, and the broader community is essential. Proficiency in the usage of computers and office software packages (e.g., MS Word, Excel) is also required.
Skills
Sound and proven understanding of internal and international migration issues. Experience with AVRR/OCAVRR projects is considered an advantage.
