Organizational Context
The International Organization for Migration (IOM), established in 1951, is a UN-related agency focused on promoting humane and orderly migration. It collaborates with governmental and non-governmental partners to save lives, protect people on the move, and facilitate regular migration pathways. This role supports project activities under the supervision of the National Project Officer and Project Assistant.
Job Purpose
This Social Worker role is crucial for the implementation, monitoring, and reporting of project activities within IOM's mission to support migrants and refugees. The position involves direct engagement with beneficiaries, assessing their needs, and coordinating services to ensure their well-being and protection. The role contributes to IOM's efforts in managing displacement and facilitating pathways for vulnerable populations. By addressing protection needs and developing individual action plans, the social worker plays a key part in providing essential support and guidance to individuals and families navigating complex migration journeys, ensuring their rights and safety are upheld throughout the process.

Maintaining comprehensive case files, updating project databases, and informing beneficiaries about case progress are essential. Additionally, the social worker will map available services, develop individual action plans, and participate in team meetings to discuss case management and identify service gaps. Escorting beneficiaries to health facilities and performing other assigned duties are also part of the role.
