The Internship Programme aims to attract students and graduates interested in migration-related fields, requiring them to be between 20-36 years old with less than two years of relevant experience.
Job Purpose
This internship within the Family Reunification Unit in Rome, Italy, under the supervision of the Project Manager and overall guidance of the Director, Coordination Office for the Mediterranean and Chief of Mission in Italy and Malta, aims to support the unit's activities. The intern will assist in implementing programs related to family reunification, particularly those utilizing DNA testing. This role contributes to facilitating legal entry channels for migrants and refugees into Italy, supporting data collection for publications and communication, and aiding in the development of case management tools. The position is designed to provide practical experience in migration management and support the organization's mandate.
Responsibilities
The intern will support the implementation of activities for family reunification to Italy, including the use of DNA testing. Key duties involve assisting in the collection of disaggregated and anonymous data for publications and communication purposes. The role also includes supporting the development or adaptation of existing case management tools. Furthermore, the intern will help gather data on family reunification procedures, relevant legislation, and practices in Italy and other EU member states. A crucial aspect is supporting the dissemination of information about family reunification as a legal entry channel to Italy. The intern will also perform other program-related tasks as assigned by their supervisor.
Work Experience
Previous experience in the migration and asylum field is considered an advantage. The role involves assisting in basic administrative tasks such as document filing, data entry, and email correspondence, as well as participating in research and data collection activities related to project implementation.
Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Problem-solving attitude and willingness to learn quickly. Attention to detail and ability to work accurately with data and documents. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
