Job Purpose
This consultancy aims to enhance the Media and Communication Unit's capacity in producing compelling visual and multimedia content, including videos and digital assets, for the IOM Coordination Office for the Mediterranean (COMED). The role will support the development of strategically aligned content to improve outreach, visibility, and engagement with key stakeholders such as media, institutions, and the public. By focusing on digital storytelling and social media, the consultant will strengthen the quality, consistency, and impact of IOM's communication outputs, addressing increasing demands for high-quality visual materials and specific project priorities within the Mediterranean region.
Responsibilities
The Communication Specialist will be responsible for producing and editing video content for digital platforms, including interviews and institutional clips. They will develop high-quality graphic materials such as social media assets, reports, and infographics, ensuring adherence to IOM branding guidelines. The role involves contributing to the planning and implementation of digital communication outputs and social media content packages. Additionally, the specialist will provide technical advice on visual communication strategies, design and layout publications, and ensure consistency and quality control across all visual outputs. Collaboration with thematic units to translate complex information into accessible visual content and providing in-person support for key activities are also key duties.
Work Experience
A minimum of one year of experience is required in graphic design, video production, digital content creation, and layout/editorial design. Experience developing communication materials for international organizations or NGOs is advantageous. Demonstrated ability to translate complex topics into clear visual content is essential.
Skills
Proficiency in graphic design and video editing tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, CapCut). Proven ability to produce high-quality visual and multimedia content for digital platforms. Understanding of digital communication, social media formats, and visual storytelling. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Strong attention to detail and visual consistency. Experience in data visualization is also noted.
