Job Purpose
The National Programme Support Officer (NO-B) in Pakistan is responsible for providing crucial technical input and information to support IOM's country office units and programmes. This involves enhancing internal coordination, contributing to the development of project proposals, ensuring accurate project reporting, and engaging with donors. The role aims to strengthen programme effectiveness and coordination across IOM Pakistan, aligning with the organization's broader mandate to manage migration humanely and effectively, and to support people on the move.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include supporting project development by providing technical inputs and drafting proposal sections, and ensuring internal coherence. The officer will assist in preparing periodic programme delivery reports for donors, monitoring reporting requirements, and conducting reviews of funding and resource utilization. They will maintain internal liaison with other IOM units to foster coordination and identify synergies. Additionally, the role involves providing administrative and logistical support for stakeholder engagement, drafting communication materials, facilitating the integration of cross-cutting issues like gender and accountability into programmes, and assisting in capacity-building initiatives for mission staff.
Work Experience
Required experience includes liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, UN agencies, and NGOs. Experience working with vulnerable groups such as migrants, refugees, and internally displaced persons is also necessary. Prior experience in a multicultural setting with international humanitarian organizations or governmental/non-governmental institutions is considered an advantage.
Skills
Proficiency in UN, IOM, and NGO mandates and programmes related to humanitarian response, IDPs, post-conflict environments, and development. Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of project implementation and programme support processes. Understanding of monitoring and evaluation. Strong communication skills with government partners.
