Project Coordinator (displacement Tracking Matrix (dtm))
Organizational Context
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has been active in the Central African Republic (CAR) since 2006, addressing migration and humanitarian challenges exacerbated by conflict and displacement. IOM CAR is expanding its multi-sectoral response, encompassing humanitarian aid, displacement tracking, migration governance support, community stabilization, and reintegration programs. The Project Coordinator role operates under the Chief of Mission and Head of Humanitarian Response Unit.
Job Purpose
The Project Coordinator (Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM)) is responsible for managing and coordinating the DTM Programme and other Information Management (IM) and research projects focused on population movements and mobility within the Central African Republic. This role is crucial for providing real-time data and assessments to inform humanitarian response, policy decisions, and support IOM's comprehensive strategy in CAR. The position requires close coordination with various internal and external stakeholders, including government counterparts, UN agencies, and humanitarian partners, to ensure the effective implementation and dissemination of DTM activities and related research projects, ultimately contributing to IOM's mission of promoting humane and orderly migration.
Responsibilities
The Project Coordinator will manage the Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) Programme, including setting up and adapting data collection mechanisms and methodologies for tracking internally displaced persons (IDPs) and returnees. Responsibilities include overseeing field data collection, supervising data analysis, and producing regular reports and information outputs for stakeholders. The role involves coordinating assessments and thematic surveys, ensuring the integration of cross-cutting issues like disability inclusion and protection mainstreaming, and adhering to data protection principles. Additionally, the coordinator will manage logistical and administrative arrangements, foster operational partnerships, participate in relevant meetings, provide guidance to staff, and contribute to resource mobilization and donor reporting.
Work Experience
Required experience includes project development, management, implementation, coordination, monitoring, and evaluation. Experience in Information Management or Disaster Risk Management is essential. Experience with population databases, emergency response, humanitarian assistance, and international organizations is highly valued. Working experience in the region and knowledge of UN/IOM mandates are considered assets.
Skills
Proficiency in MS Office package (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Knowledge of graphic design using Adobe suite. Expertise in data collection tools such as Kobo and ODK.
