EAGLE Project Associate
Organizational Context
IOM, a UN-related organization established in 1951, promotes humane and orderly migration. The EAGLE project, funded by the Migration Partnership Facility, aims to create a skills mobility partnership between Austria and Egypt. This role supports the project's implementation from September 2025 to February 2028, under the supervision of the Chief of Mission in Austria and the Head of the Labour Mobility and Social Inclusion Unit.
Job Purpose
The EAGLE Project Associate will support the implementation of all activities for the "EAGLE– A Skills Mobility Partnership Between Austria and Egypt" project. This project aims to establish a mutually beneficial talent development and mobility partnership by developing and delivering a training curriculum in Egypt for metal processing occupations, piloting a scalable mobility scheme between Egypt and Austria, and enhancing integration measures for skilled migrants in Austria. The role contributes to IOM's objective of facilitating pathways for regular migration and connecting migrants to decent work opportunities, while also advocating for migrant integration in development planning.
Responsibilities
The Project Associate will assist in the implementation and monitoring of project activities, including retrieving, compiling, and summarizing data. Responsibilities include monitoring budgets, verifying fund availability, and obtaining necessary approvals. The role involves supporting administrative coordination, liaising with internal units and external parties, and processing administrative actions. The associate will draft status reports, identify delivery shortfalls, and prepare correspondence, briefing notes, and other documentation. Organizing meetings, workshops, and training sessions, responding to information requests, and maintaining project files are also key duties. The position may involve other related tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Work Experience
Experience in labour migration, education and training, public-private partnerships, or migrant integration is an asset. Experience liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, UN agencies, and NGOs is also beneficial. Prior work experience within international humanitarian organizations or governmental/non-governmental institutions in a multicultural setting is considered an advantage.
Skills
Proven project management skills (monitoring, reporting, financial controlling) are an asset. Moderation and presentation skills, including in digital settings, are desirable. Research and publication skills are also considered an asset. Knowledge of the migration landscapes, policies, institutions, and stakeholders in Austria, Egypt, and/or Europe is beneficial.
