Job Purpose
The Project Associate (IBG) in Jakarta will support the execution and delivery of border management programmes under the supervision of the Senior Project Associate and Programme Manager. This role is crucial for facilitating project activities within the Immigration and Border Governance Division. The position involves providing essential clerical support for project development and contributing to the overall effectiveness of IOM's initiatives in strengthening migration and border management systems. The role supports IOM's mandate to facilitate orderly, safe, and regular migration and mobility by assisting in the implementation of projects aimed at enhancing border governance.
Responsibilities
The Project Associate will support collaboration and liaison with key IBG partners, beneficiaries, and stakeholders, including government ministries and civil society organizations. Responsibilities include assisting in the implementation of project activities such as developing training materials, conducting capacity-building initiatives, coordinating meetings, and creating outreach materials. The role involves monitoring day-to-day project and operational activities in line with IOM procedures, and supporting the drafting of work plans, concept notes, ToRs, and activity reports. Additionally, the associate will draft correspondence, prepare reports and documentation, monitor project activities for risk mitigation, and assist in preparing donor reports. Participation in meetings and coordination with various national and international entities is also required.
Work Experience
Required experience includes professional work in project implementation and development, particularly in delivering training to stakeholders. Experience in facilitating workshops and meetings, and supporting capacity-building activities is essential. Professional experience in donor reporting and liaising with governmental authorities and international organizations is also necessary. The candidate must be an Indonesian National with knowledge of migration and border security contexts in Indonesia.
Skills
Key skills include a solid understanding of migration and border governance frameworks, strong analytical, creative thinking, and writing abilities. Good facilitation and presentation skills are required. Fluency in written and oral English and Bahasa Indonesia is essential, along with high computer literacy in Microsoft Office tools. Strong liaison and networking skills with state and non-state actors are also important.
