Organizational Context

Responsibilities
The Fleet Assistant is responsible for coordinating all mission vehicle movements in the Central African Republic, preparing daily movement schedules in collaboration with program managers and unit heads. Key duties include managing vehicle registration and licensing, ensuring all documentation remains current. The role involves monitoring the logbook system, verifying data accuracy, and overseeing vehicle maintenance and fuel supply, including weekly checks and weekend/monthly refueling. The assistant will manage and analyze vehicle consumption data, maintain vehicle records, and ensure all vehicles are kept clean and in good working order. Responsibilities also extend to reporting transport issues, verifying driver's licenses, facilitating accident reporting, managing the fleet section's petty cash, and assisting the Senior Fleet Assistant in driver supervision. Archiving vehicle-related documents such as insurance, registration, repair orders, and invoices is also a core function.
Work Experience
Required experience includes procurement and logistics, supplier/service provider relations, and asset management processes. Experience working with IOM or UN procurement and logistics rules and procedures is an advantage, as is prior experience within an international organization.
Skills
Proficiency in automobile mechanics, a valid driver's license, and strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word) are essential. The role requires the ability to work effectively in a team, manage stressful situations, adapt to challenging environments, and meet deadlines under pressure.
