Job Purpose
The ICT Associate (Roving) provides essential technical and ICT support to users within the mission, focusing on information management tools and technology infrastructure. This role is crucial for maintaining the operational efficiency of IOM South Sudan's ICT systems, including its sub-offices. The incumbent is responsible for managing the ICT infrastructure, troubleshooting technical issues, and orienting users. This position ensures the smooth functioning of daily operations by addressing support needs and maintaining the integrity of the technological environment, contributing directly to IOM's mission delivery in the region.
Responsibilities
Serve as the primary ICT roving staff for sub-offices, providing flexible support and temporary duty assignments as needed to address support gaps. Efficiently resolve all support and security issues in a timely manner. Offer technical support, assessment, and recommendations for basic network environments, particularly Cisco Meraki and Microsoft infrastructure across the mission. Assist in resolving technical issues, including those in hybrid cloud environments, and escalate complex problems. Support users with Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365 suite, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Intune, Azure, and corporate applications like Wave and PRIMA. Ensure all computers and devices comply with ICT security standards through regular verification and reporting inconsistencies. Maintain network LAN/WAN equipment, including firewalls, switches, and access points, and monitor network connectivity, reporting issues and implementing corrective actions to minimize downtime. Support account lifecycle administration using the InfoSec portal and Identity Access Management. Provide user training on corporate applications, security awareness, and new system implementations. Prepare reports, documentation, and contribute technical input for SOPs as required.
Work Experience
Requires extensive knowledge and experience in ICT support and infrastructure, including administration and implementation of multi-site ICT solutions. Experience with WAN/LAN technologies, on-premises/cloud-based servers, and troubleshooting hardware/software across multiple platforms is essential. Familiarity with networking, firewalls, routers, switches, VPNs, and Windows server platforms, including Active Directory, is necessary. Experience in an international organization and Identity Access Management (IAM) is advantageous.
Skills
Proficiency in WAN/LAN network equipment operation and troubleshooting for optimal connectivity and uptime. Strong Microsoft Office 365 application and collaboration tool skills. Effective resource management, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities. Excellent organizational skills with the capacity to prioritize tasks. Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-divisional team and quickly understand business processes.
